Doing vs. Inhabiting (With an Eye Toward Eternity)

Lord, thinking a lot about doing / accomplishing (bottom line) vs. being / inhabiting (over long haul)... Thinking about approaching everything we do as inhabiting / investing... so my woodshop, music, spending money to do things beautifully / well, as if we were going to dwell here for a thousand years...
Lord, I feel like the kingdom will be a spacious place... it seems like there are not a lot of people who think this way, want this kind of life – the kingdom is a long haul, heavy on the investment sort of thing... mothing worth doing comes quickly or easily... it is all very costly.
But what if, when / as we start taking this long term approach, with eyes of faith, for the sake of the gospel and the glory of our king... what if the perishable starts to become imperishable? Or a seed is planted? (1 Cor 15)
Lord, if everything I'm spending money on now had the ability to last / persist into eternity, I would spend as much as I could afford in a heartbeat. What I really want to be about is shalom, for eternity. I want to be creating things that last...
