My Yoke Is Easy (Mt 11:30)

When Jesus says "My yoke is easy, and my burden is light..." (Matthew 11:30), he doesn't mean there's "no work" involved.
Rather, he is speaking to people who are buried in a different kind of work – people who labor, are weary, heavy laden... He's saying, I offer you a kind of work that is both harder than you ever imagined, but also better than you ever dreamed. It is a burden you want to put on, because it is so rewarding.
There is a kind of labor that breeds weariness...
Jesus is saying there's another kind of labor that that energizes... this kind of work actually feels like rest for your soul.
Most American Christians are chronically exhausted because we are really working for ourselves, rather than for Jesus...
