Shalom as Fuel

Lord, it strikes me that one of N's challenges right now is not simply to fight against addiction / repay his debts... it to develop a more robust sense of calling / purpose in regards to seeking shalom (Jer. 29:7).
Shalom starts with "What am I good at? What skills has God given me? What kind of work do I enjoy? Where do my gifts / skills / passions align with needs and opportunities to add value to a community?
It's interesting how down to earth shalom is:
- if you are a craftsman / builder... go build!
- if you are a farmer / gardener... go plant gardens and cultivate!
- if you are a metal worker / artist... make thing beautiful!
- if you are a man / woman... get married! Create families!
Very down to earth. But with intent behind it... shalom! (flourishing)
This is what most American Christians are missing – it's any sense of the divine Yes! (purpose, intent)
